The Ministry of Health revealed the mechanism of its medical preparations to cover the ceremonies of the fortieth day of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) in the holy governorate of Karbala.

The official spokesman for the ministry, Saif Al-Badr, stated that “a high-level committee headed by the Minister of Health is formed annually in preparation for the ceremonies of the fortieth visit of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him).”

He added, “The ministerial committee actually started its meetings in partnership with the directorates of operations and emergency medical services in the center of the ministry, the doctors of the Ministries of Defense and Interior and the Authority, of Al-Hashed as well as health departments in the concerned governorates Karbala, Najaf, Babil and Baghdad, and the neighboring departments in all provinces within the visitors’ road to the city of Holy Karbala“.

He added that “there is continuous coordination with governmental and non-governmental agencies, i.e. operational leaders, local governments and Husseini procession bodies.”

He explained, “A ministerial team headed by the Minister of Health will go to the field and will be present in the Holy City with the approaching date of the Arbaeen visit and until the completion of the entire visit ceremony.”

He continued, “We expect the arrival of large numbers of visitors from inside and outside Iraq to the holy Karbala, with our continued emphasis on the need to adhere to health preventive measures for cholera, hemorrhagic fever and the Corona virus.”
